Mom & Dad came in last weekend two weeks ago (I’m a bit late in publishing this post) for father’s day, their anniversary (39 years!!), and to see the new house. Like any good Jewish event, the weekend revolved almost entirely around food. (Unfortunately, the other focus of the weekend was Dad’s cough and fever, which turned out to be a touch of pneumonia. Yikes!)

After services, we went to dinner at the Horseradish Grill in Chastain Park. I was kind of expecting everything there to be spicy, you know, made with horseradish. Not the case. I had the grouper, which was wrapped in bacon and cooked whole, giving it a great smoky flavor. It was also served whole, giving me a great opportunity to act like a juvenile by constantly singing “Take Me to the River” like the big mouth billy bass that Pauly Walnuts gave Tony Soprano after they whacked Big Pussy. (That just sounds dirty.)

We woke up late Saturday morning and headed over to Flip Burger (third time!).  That place just does not disappoint.  We all got different burgers and tasted all of them.  I liked the lamb burger and the Moroccan, but my favorite was the chorizo that I ordered.  (Still doesn’t hold up to the corned beef burger, though.)  We also split the Kripy Kreme milkshake and the Nutella and Burnt Marshmallow milkshake, and a couple of side items.  Not exactly the healthiest meal.

Saturday night Amanda and I cooked dinner for Mom & Dad at the house.  Amanda made her corn, tomato and avocado salad, and I grilled some asparagus along with a London Broil marinated in soy, ginger, garlic and olive oil, as well as some sauteed mushrooms for Dad.  It was my first time to grill such a large cut of meat, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.  In fact, as I type this, I am literally salivating.

Sunday we woke up and planned to drive down to Serenbe Farms for brunch, but Dad wasn’t feeling well at all, so he stayed behind to rest.  Undeterred, Mom, Amanda and I pressed on to enjoy our brunch, which consisted of fried chicken, potatoes, onions, carrots, and green beans, along with a bloody mary for each of us.  Presumably, the vodka was also distilled on the property.

Aside from Dad being sick, it was a great weekend, and it was really fun to spend time with Mom & Dad.  It was also really fun to eat all of this good food.  And I now leave you with this question:  If you saw these restrooms at a restaurant, which would you assume was the men’s room, and which would you assume was the ladies room?  Let’s hear it in the comments.

Which one of these rooms would you pee in?
